Things You Should Bring to Class
One of the most important things to remember about note taking is that you have to have the right tools for every class. This is because you can know every note taking strategy that has ever existed, and you still won’t be able to take the notes that you need to take without the basic school supplies that every student needs to have. It is important to note, however, that this doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to bring a bag filled with every office supply known to man, but instead that you need to have the basic note taking supplies that every student has to have to record his or her notes. In other words, there are certain things that every note taker needs, and you have to make sure that you have all of these things.
Three Essential Materials
- The first thing is something to write with. This is important because you need to have a pen or pencil to actually write down the notes, and you will typically want to bring at least a couple of pens or pencils and a pencil sharpener to make sure that you have something to write with even if your pen runs out of ink or your pencil tip breaks. It is also important to note that if you’re using ink, you may want to bring some Wite-Out or a Wite-Out pen, so it’s easier to correct the mistakes that you make.
- The second thing that you should bring is something to write on. This is important because you need to have a notebook, some loose-leaf paper, or some other way to actually record the information that you are supposed to be taking note of, and most teachers won’t appreciate it if you decide to use your desk as your note taking medium. In fact, a pile of loose-leaf paper is typically a very good thing to bring because it is much easier to review individual pages and change the order in which you put your notes.
- The third thing that you should bring is something to put your notes in. This is important because you need to have a folder, a binder, or some other similar place in which you can keep your notes organized.
