What Is My Motivation
It is important to remember that there are a number of different things that you may have to do to take good notes, but one of the things that you will almost always have to do is find a way to keep yourself motivated. This is because you will probably have to take notes on concepts that you consider to be boring or difficult at some point, and you have to find a way to take the notes that you need even when you have no desire to do so. This means that, to actually make sure that you are able to take good notes, you have to understand how motivation works and how different things may motivate you. Fortunately, the concept of motivation is really not all that complicated because motivation is simply the ambition to accomplish a task. In fact, motivation may be the ambition to complete your homework, to take the notes that you need in class, to revise your notes after class, to review your notes, or to carry out a variety of other similar tasks that you may be required to do. Motivation, as a result, is extremely important because it is the force that drives you to take, organize, revise, and review your notes.
It is important to note, however, that there are actually two different kinds of motivation that can drive you to accomplish tasks.
- The first kind of motivation is intrinsic motivation. Intrinsic motivation is the ambition you have to accomplish a task when you will only receive an internal benefit. In other words, this is the ambition that you have to accomplish a task because it makes you feel good. Intrinsic motivation is typically driven by the way you feel after you accomplish something and the desire that you have to achieve that feeling of accomplishment again.
- The second kind of motivation is extrinsic motivation. Extrinsic motivation is the ambition that you have to accomplish a task when you will receive an external benefit. In other words, this is the ambition that you have to accomplish a task because you will get something out of it. Extrinsic motivation is typically driven by the rewards you will receive from accomplishing a task, such as a better grade on your next test, more time to play video games, and/or other similar rewards.
